History
We are the largest independent tutoring company in Chorley and have been based at the junction of Market Street and Chapel Street, since September 2005 when we opened as a Kip McGrath Education Centre (KMEC) franchise.
Specialising in providing tutoring in READING, SPELLING, ENGLISH and MATHS for children aged 5 upwards - for those who need extra help at school, as well as for those who want to enhance their work even further - we have consistently grown through recommendations of both parents and local schools.
In August 2011, we ceased operating as a KMEC franchise and became fully independant forming Eureka Tuition.
In Summer 2017 Lucy Entwistle became the new owner and Director of the centre, taking over from Hilary Pepper who retired from the business in December 2017.

Our Team
One of the first questions children ask about Eureka Tuition is: "Will it be like school?" Well it is and it isn't. Like all good schools, we employ fully qualified, experienced, enthusiastic teachers as tutors; but our teachers only ever work with a maximum of four children. Each child has a planned individual program specifically developed for them. The program is consistently maintained and followed throughout the childs journey with us.
Principal Tutor and Owner
Lucy
Lucy has over 25 years teaching experience, working with children from EYFS Nursery, through to year Six and into Secondary Education. She has held senior teaching roles in schools thoughout Lancashire during that time. She says:
"When I started working at Eureka in March 2016 I couldn’t believe my luck. Here was a teaching environment that allowed teachers to spend quality time with each student; was unbelievably well resourced and had such a lovely energy and welcoming feel about it. When Hillary offered me the opportunity to purchase the business I jumped at the chance.
Eureka will continue to run as it always has, as I value these things not only as a teacher but also as a parent. My eldest daughter, who has just achieved fantastic GCSE results, came to Eureka for extra Maths tuition and my youngest also comes for both English and Maths."
