One of the first questions children ask about Eureka Tuition is: "Will it be like school?" Like all good schools, we employ fully qualified, experienced, enthusiastic teachers as tutors; but our teachers will be working individually with no more than four children.
Hilary is the centre owner and our principal tutor. She says about teaching at Eureka:
"The atmosphere that we have created, of children being enthusiastic to learn and teachers being able to teach in a calm environment, is one that is difficult to replicate in normal school classrooms. It is also a joy to be able to plan just for individual children's needs and see them flourish."
Gloria is one of our primary tutors. A graduate in psychology, with a postgraduate diploma in Special Educational Needs, she has been teaching since 1990; with experience across the primary range at schools in Derbyshire and Lancashire. She says:
"Working at Eureka allows me to do what I entered the teaching profession for - teach. I love being able to just get on and teach. The small group sizes means you can build up relationships with the children, that just isn't possible with a large class, and it's very rewarding to see them develop in confidence and make progress."
Elaine is one of our primary tutors. A graduate in French & Linguistics, with a postgraduate certificate in Teacher Training, she has been teaching since 1995; with experience across the primary range, particularly early years learning, at schools in St Helens and Wigan. She says:
"Being a tutor at Eureka has renewed my love of teaching. The resources are superb for helping the children move on in their learning. I get great pleasure from seeing the children's delight as they achieve something new."
